Oregon Parent Training and Information Center (OrPTI) 

Mid Oregon Regional Trainer


We are seeking a .75 FTE Mid Oregon Regional Trainer serving: Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Polk, Tillamook & Yamhill Counties. The statewide Parent Training and Information Center has a commitment to serving and educating every single community in our state. The OrPTI's goal is to find an individual that can help families and communities connect to and access the supports they need. It is our goal to teach individuals how to advocate for children and learn about their rights and responsibilities in order to achieve an appropriate education for their child.

The Ideal Candidate:
We seek someone that will work under the direct supervision of the Resource Director. Someone with a mix of leadership experience, teamwork, interpersonal communication skills and self motivation. This person should also have a strong interest in or knowledge of special education, disability service systems and family supports.  This person must be comfortable working with a wide range of people, and be proficient in computer and internet use. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. The trainer must live in one of the counties served.

Responsibilities Include:
· Plan, prepare and present educational trainings within the mid Oregon region.
· Cultivate community contacts within region and promote Oregon PTI trainings and programs.
· Take technical assistance calls.
· Serve on pertinent local and state committees, boards and task forces as assigned.
· Manage and maintain all OrPTI Paperwork.
· Submit monthly paperwork and database reporting requirements.
· Work with the Resource Director on curriculum and handout revisions.
· Participate in training opportunities to keep knowledge up to date.
· Respond to parent and agency requests for assistance.
· Attend OrPTI staff meetings.
